Post 3 and 3a: Research into Opening Sequence Designs

After watching the commentaries with Kyle Cooper, a successful Typographer and Title designer, i have made notes on techniques we should use and subject we should address in the making of our title sequence. Firstly a title sequence should set an expectation for the film, which means the audience should be able to see whether the film will be good or bad from a title sequence, which shows us that it should grab the audience's attention. Plot introduction may be key. The next thing i noticed was that i needed to pay close attention to the font styles and the presentation of the names and the title, in the credits and that it should match the theme of the film or scene going on. Another aspect i noted was to not only use the editing software to add the text or the titles, but to film other objects are scenarios with them on it. Such a graffiti in the scene with the names on the wall. Lastly, was to get good inspirations for the film. So my group analysed the opening to 'Trainspotting' a film with the same genre and similar themes.
